Bangladesh is a developing country where eighty percent of the people live in the remote villages. Nevertheless, Bangladesh has been making significant socio-economic developments in recent years. In spite of improving healthcare indicators such as decline in mortality rates and increase in average life expectancy, the health sector of the country is yet to achieve its full potential. Consequently many people die due to ignorance, inadequate medical care and lack of treatment facilities. However, the medical education of the country has been constantly improving to keep pace with the worldwide progress of medical science. Bangladesh Army also felt the necessity of possessing a group of energetic, motivated and devoted young professionals to face the global changes happening in the field of medical education and technology in 21st century. With this view; Army Medical College Comilla (AMCC) has been established in Comilla Cantonment by a sanction letter from the Ministry of Health. Total five Army Medical Colleges were inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh through a video conference on 10 January in 2015 and this college started its academic journey on 11 January in 2015 with 50 students.
